Your maximum heart rate: beats per minute.
Moderate training zone: bpm — Vigorous training zone: bpm.
Results are approximate guidance only and are no substitute for consulting a specialist doctor.
Your maximum heart rate is the highest number of beats per minute your heart can reach under intense effort, used to set safe and effective exercise intensity zones.
How the calculation works
The calculator uses the classic formula: maximum rate = 220 − age. Moderate exercise sits between 50–70% of this rate, vigorous exercise between 70–85%. Consult a doctor before starting an intensive programme, especially with heart or blood-pressure conditions.
