For years, the residents of the Gaza Strip have been suffering from a suffocating blockade and a severe shortage of medical resources, and this suffering has worsened tragically during the recent war, as hospitals have been filled with the wounded and injured amid a clear shortage of essential equipment and supplies. In the midst of this difficult reality, there has been an urgent need to support operating rooms, which are the last line of defense in saving lives.
In response to this pressing need, the International Medical Relief Association (Medics) implemented an urgent humanitarian project that consisted of providing a modern anesthesia machine for the operating rooms at Al-Wafa Hospital, which enabled medical teams to carry out emergency surgical operations with greater efficiency and safety, as the waiting list for operations exceeded 300 procedures. This project was not merely the provision of medical equipment, but rather a lifeline that helped alleviate the suffering of thousands of families and offered a ray of hope amid a reality full of humanitarian and medical challenges.
