Medics Participates in the Annual General Assembly Conference of the Federation of Islamic Medical Associations in Thailand 2026

The International Medical Relief Association, “Medics,” participated in the annual general assembly conference of the Federation of Islamic Medical Associations (FIMA), held in Thailand in 2026, as part of its commitment to strengthening its presence in international medical and humanitarian forums. This participation is an extension of its mission to support the health sector, assist communities affected by crises, and uphold patients’ and those in need’s right to access medical care around the world.

This gathering provided an opportunity for communication between medical institutions and associations from different countries, within a framework that brings together medical work and humanitarian cooperation. The accompanying events included the international scientific conference “TIMA–FIMA 2026” at Prince of Songkla University in Hat Yai, under the title “Environment and Mental Health for a Sustainable Future,” with the participation of more than 200 experts, academics, medical professionals, and representatives of participating entities from within Thailand and abroad.

Medics’ participation in this forum aligns with its direction toward expanding cooperation with medical and relief institutions and benefiting from diverse expertise in developing responses to health needs. Communication between the organizations working in this field creates opportunities to exchange knowledge and coordinate efforts, helping improve the quality of medical interventions and strengthen their ability to reach the most in-need groups, especially in areas of conflict and disaster.

This participation gains its importance from its connection to Medics’ work in supporting health services and helping patients and the wounded, with special attention to humanitarian and medical needs in the Gaza Strip. International meetings represent an important space for keeping the suffering of affected communities present in institutional focus, raising awareness of the importance of supporting health facilities and medical staff, and ensuring the continuity of treatment and care for groups that face difficulties in obtaining them.

Through its presence at the FIMA conference, Medics continues its approach of linking field relief work with international cooperation, based on its belief that addressing health challenges requires the integration of expertise and responsibilities. The aim of these efforts remains to support a more effective and sustainable humanitarian response that preserves human dignity and helps alleviate the suffering of patients and those in need wherever they are.
